Wipro Ties Up With Domain, Tech Partners To Develop Therapy Management Platform WIPRO has entered into alliances with some leading domain and technology partners to develop the therapy management platform. With this, the company is gearing up to make most out of its therapy management platform which is a dedicated disease management service portfolio. The therapy management platform is a web-based solution that provides a collaborative environment to interact and communicate with healthcare providers and patients. "The healthcare solutions market is emerging and we see numerous opportunities. Innovative care delivery solutions are in tremendous demand due to exponential rise in healthcare costs in the US. The concept of cost control in healthcare is catching up in other countries which are looking for cost-effective and efficient management solutions. Since Wipro has made a head start in the field with therapy management platform, it is poised to capitalize the potential opportunities", said Syamala Lanka, GM, Wipro Technologies. The company developed the therapy management platform two years ago. A team of 15 were involved in its development. The solution is being continuously upgraded at Wipro's Care Management Centre of Competency (CoC). The therapy management platform enables remote monitoring of patient's health. It helps patient-physician communication via internet besides alert notification on health status to physicians, nurses and patients. The platform allows optimal workflow management. It supports online personalized education on disease, therapy and medication. Besides patients with similar disease conditions are tracked to encourage knowledge sharing. The platform is built on industry standard enterprise platform using component based architecture and contains disease specific, HIPAA compliant components so as to support easy customization and addresses concerns on security, data integrity, scalability, internationalization, flexibility and extensibility. It can be integrated with the mobile technology too, stated Lanka. The solution has been used in life sciences and healthcare providers for disease management and registry initiatives. It can be customized for suitable business needs. Customers can also rent out the platform licence on annuity basis and use the existing infrastructure to host the solution. The user can use the Wipro hosted solution and pay for the services based on per user. The hosting happens in a HIPAA compliant Wipro Data Centre in order to be compliant with regulatory requirements. Client could pay onetime charges for the platform and buyout a non-exclusive licence. The solution is marketed across India and to US, UK, Germany, Taiwan and China. Since Wipro is not a product company, it uses the platform as a solution accelerator to enable its customers implement their disease/ registry / care management solution /programmes faster and cost effectively. The platform can also co-exist with other products in customer IT environment, informed Lanka (Ref: The Chronicle Pharmabiz dated 21, February 2008) |
